The month of April is dedicated to the writer Victoria Sau Sánchez

On April 1st, the writer Victoria Sau Sánchez was born in Barcelona. She wrote romance novels and short stories under the pseudonym Vicky Lorca, and educational books on psychology and feminism such as “Manifesto for the Freedom of Women” (Manifiesto para la liberación de la mujer), “Feminist Ideological Dictionary” (Diccionario ideológico feminista), “Differential Psychology of Sex and Gender (Psicología diferencial del sexo y el género) and “Psychological Repercussions of Exclusion” (Repercusiones psicológicas de la exclusion). She was a leading figure in feminism in Spain; she addressed important issues such as patriarchy, motherhood and the division of labour between the two sexes from a progressive point of view and that broke with the canons of her time.
