In the modern and civilized world, angels, vampires and werewolves have coexisted since time immemorial in constant struggle with each other. At first the Vigilantes were angels sent by the Creator to watch over the human race, but then they joined carnally with mortals, and for this reason they were punished by the Sentinels, superior warrior angels, who took away their wings and soul and transformed them into vampires.
First book of the Renegade Angels series, the story is about Adrian Mitchell, captain of a special unit of sentinels who, together with werewolves, humans and wolves, controls a group of vampires whose leader is Syre, a fallen angel who before losing his wings had had two children with a mortal: Torque and Shadoe. Adrian, however, had also committed the sin of lust and in the end, as punishment, had to kill Shadoe, the creature he had fallen in love with, before her father could transform her into a vampire. But in doing so, her soul became immortal and was reincarnated in the bodies of other women, in an eternal and endless cycle. In the last reincarnation, Shadoe reborn as Lindsay Gibson, a girl with special abilities who hunts vampires without knowing that she has an immortal soul inside her. When Adrian and Lindsay meet, a strong attraction is born between them, but for Lindsay the supernatural world is dangerous and she could lose her love and her soul forever.
The love story is really engaging and with a good dose of eroticism that keeps the attention in reading from the very beginning to the end. In the fantasy world that the author has created, even the secondary characters convey strong emotions that make you want to know more about them.
The story is told by a third-person narrator that allows for a more complete and clear vision of what happens in the novel. The dialogues and descriptions are well constructed and create impactful scenes that make the reading flow smoothly, without ever interrupting it. And finally, the characters are defined with physical and character traits that make them unique and special and give greater impetus to the plot well developed between internal and external conflicts that strongly support it until the end.
